The upcoming Lucid Gravity was recently sighted undergoing testing in South Korea.

In anticipation of the imminent launch of Lucid Motors' Gravity SUV later this year, a recently captured prototype undergoing testing in South Korea has stirred excitement. Shared by user 2028Lucid on Saturday, images depict the electric prototype adorned with a distinctive wrap, traversing a highway near Uiwang city. The wrap features the term "Gravity" creatively displayed in different sizes and orientations, accompanied by the prominent inscription of "Lucid" on the sides and rear of the SUV.

he sighting is just the latest in the Lucid Gravity’s testing on public roads, after the automaker announced that it would begin testing pre-production versions of the SUV on public roads last April. A Lucid Gravity sporting the same wrap could also be seen in a photo on X on Friday, as posted by Car and Driver editor John Voelcker.

Despite currently restricting sales to the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the Middle East, Lucid's recent Gravity prototype sighting aligns with the company's expansion ambitions. This follows Lucid's recent announcement of plans to enlarge its AMP-1 facility in Casa Grande, Arizona, gearing up for Gravity production. Alongside the Arizona plant, Lucid operates a facility in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where approximately 800 Air sedan units were assembled by December.

Scheduled for production commencement by the end of 2024, the Lucid Gravity aims for a sub-$80,000 price point and an impressive range of around 440 miles. Lucid's future aspirations involve introducing more affordable alternatives to compete with Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y. However, the current entry-level Lucid Air configuration starts at $77,400.

In 2023, Lucid fell short of its production forecast, building 8,428 Air units and delivering 6,001. Despite this, the company remains optimistic about its future plans, including the Gravity SUV launch. Notably, Lucid faced challenges in its stock performance, leading to its delisting from the Nasdaq 100 Index in December.
