Tesla Launches New Round of Free FSD Trials

Tesla has launched another round of free trials for its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system to select customers in North America. This initiative appears to be Tesla's latest strategy to promote its FSD (Supervised) technology to a wider audience.

Screenshots of the new FSD (Supervised) free trials have been shared on the social media platform X. Notably, even customers with an active FSD subscription can take advantage of this new 30-day trial program.

Your Full Self-Driving (Supervised) trial is now active!

You’ve been given a complimentary trial* of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) for your vehicle ending in XXX.

With your supervision, Full Self-Driving (Supervised) can navigate your Tesla almost anywhere. It will handle lane changes, choose routes based on navigation, maneuver around other vehicles and obstacles, and make left and right turns. Please remember to stay alert and exercise caution; this feature does not make your vehicle autonomous, so do not let your guard down.

This trial will conclude on (date).

*If you currently have an active FSD (Supervised) subscription, you will receive an additional 30 days of free Full Self-Driving capability.

Why It Matters:

It is increasingly clear that Full Self-Driving (FSD) could become Tesla's "killer app." Similar to the North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has been embraced by most automakers in the region, this advanced driver-assist system may eventually be licensed to other manufacturers once it reaches full maturity.

An unsupervised version of FSD will be the driving force behind Tesla's Cybercab, the company's first vehicle specifically engineered for complete autonomous driving.
