Tesla App Update Brings Exciting Changes for Canadian Users and Hints at New Smart Summon Features

Tesla's latest app update has stirred quite a buzz, especially for Canadian users. The update introduces some highly anticipated features and improvements that are worth noting.

Referral Program Expands to Canada

Tesla's Referral Program, which was recently reinstated in the United States, has now made its way to Canada. This expansion brings the same rewards structure as seen in the U.S., though with some minor currency conversion differences. Canadian referrers will receive CAD $650 (approximately USD $480) per successful referral, while those being referred will benefit from a CAD $1300 (about USD $964) discount. This is a slight adjustment due to exchange rate fluctuations, but overall, it's great news for Canadian Tesla enthusiasts. The quick rollout of this program in Canada also bodes well for other regions like Europe and China, which might see similar updates soon.

1.99% Financing for Model Y in Canada

In addition to the referral program, Canadian Tesla customers can now take advantage of a remarkable financing offer. The Model Y is available with an exceptionally low interest rate of 1.99% for loan terms of 60 months or less. For longer terms, rates are set at 2.99% for 72 months, 3.49% for 84 months, and 3.99% for 96 months. These rates are a significant improvement over the typical rates, which have been 5% or higher for most financing options in Canada. This special offer applies to all Model Y variants, including the Rear-Wheel Drive, Long Range, and Performance models.

Smart Summon Updates in the Tesla App

One of the most intriguing updates in the latest version of the Tesla app involves the Smart Summon feature. New code strings have been identified, suggesting potential advancements in Smart Summon functionality. Notably, there are no new debugging strings, indicating that we might soon see a beta release of Smart Summon with enhanced features. The app also includes new strings such as “autopark_summon_reversing_for_forward_visibility,” which could be related to upcoming reverse capabilities of Full Self-Driving (FSD).

The new Smart Summon features are expected to debut in an upcoming FSD release, possibly in version 12.6 within the next few months. This update is highly anticipated by Tesla users who are eager to experience the next level of autonomous driving technology.

Stay tuned for more updates as Tesla continues to enhance its offerings and expand its features.
