Tesla appears poised to introduce wireless electric vehicle charging.

According to Tesla's Service Manual, the company seems ready to introduce wireless electric vehicle (EV) charging.

Although wireless EV charging is still in its early development stages, it offers clear advantages for users, and automakers are recognizing its potential.

Tesla has been actively involved in wireless EV charging development, including its acquisition of Wiferion last year. While Tesla later sold Wiferion, it retained its engineers for internal wireless charging projects. Tesla confirmed its focus on inductive wireless charging for its vehicles.

During an interview with Jay Leno in 2023, Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen and Vice President of Vehicle Engineering Lars Moravy mentioned Tesla's work on wireless charging:

"We're working on inductive charging. So you don't need to plug something in at that point. You just pull into your garage, drive over the pad, and you're charging."

Although Tesla has not provided recent updates on the wireless charging rollout, the discovery in the Service Manual, particularly for the Cybertruck, suggests that this technology may debut soon. After teasing wireless charging during Tesla Investor Day in 2023, it's likely that the company is gearing up for its introduction in the near future.
