New Incentives for Tesla Model Y Help to Maintain Sales Momentum in the Upcoming Quarter

Tesla has introduced a new set of trade-in incentives aimed at maintaining the sales momentum it experienced in June, when the company achieved its highest monthly sales of over 4,500 electric vehicles (EVs) this year. This surge was largely fueled by the rollout of the refreshed Model Y and a $3,000 trade-in bonus for customers purchasing the Model 3 sedan. To further bolster sales, Tesla is now offering an additional $2,000 discount for buyers of new or demo Model Y vehicles who trade in a used car, valid until September 30.

This promotion is limited to one trade-in per transaction and cannot be redeemed for cash; it must be applied directly to the purchase of a new or demo Model Y. Additionally, the vehicle must be delivered by the end of the quarter, allowing customers to benefit from a reduced purchase price. Another significant offer allows current Tesla owners with Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) or Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities to transfer these features to their new or demo Tesla, potentially saving them between $5,100 and $10,100, depending on the software package.

Currently, Tesla has a variety of Model Y and Model 3 vehicles in stock, including some previous generation models, which are being offered at significantly reduced prices. For instance, the 2025 Tesla Model Y Long Range starts at approximately $68,433, making it more affordable than the refreshed Model Y Launch Series, which begins at over $69,000 in Victoria. The refreshed Model Y has garnered positive reviews, solidifying its position as one of the top electric SUVs available today. Meanwhile, the Model 3 has seen a resurgence in sales, with June marking its best month of the year, contributing to a total of 8,986 local sales for the quarter.

As competition intensifies in both global and Australian markets, these extended incentives are expected to drive sales over the next three months, helping Tesla maintain its status as the leading EV brand in Australia.
