Exciting News: Non-Foundation Series Cybertruck Configurations Are Here!
Tesla has started inviting reservation holders in the United States to configure their non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks. This model is more affordable compared to the Foundation Series, which includes several premium features.
The Foundation Series comes with enhancements such as laser-etched badges, an internal cabin graphic on the dash, Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability, lifetime Premium Connectivity, a Powershare Mobile Connector with a discounted installation, $2,500 USD (or $3,500 CAD) in Tesla Shop Credit, and additional premium accessories. The Foundation Series also includes the Off-Road Lightbar.
While the non-Foundation Series Cybertruck lacks these added features, buyers can opt to include many of them individually. Items like Premium Connectivity, Powershare Wall Connector, and FSD can be added a la carte. However, the unique badging and early access available to Foundation Series customers will not be part of this model.
The starting price for the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Cybertruck is $79,990 in the U.S. and is projected to start at $109,990 in Canada. The Tri-motor Cyberbeast variant is priced at $99,990 in the U.S. and $135,990 in Canada.
Currently, the AWD Cybertruck does not qualify for the Federal EV Tax Rebate in the U.S. If it did, the price would drop to $72,500. However, it is eligible for the Commercial Clean Vehicle Credit, applicable only for commercial use.
In Canada, the Cybertruck qualifies for the Federal Heavy iZEV Rebate and is exempt from the luxury tax due to its weight, reducing its price to $104,990 before tax, making it less expensive than the Model S or Model X Long Range.
Tesla appears ready to commence deliveries soon, as emails to customers indicate, “Your Cybertruck Is Ready for Delivery.” The invitations are being sent to early reservation holders who opted not to switch to the Foundation Series, as well as those who made a $1,000 deposit for it but later changed their minds.
Currently, these invites have only been distributed to early U.S. reservation holders, but Tesla is expected to extend this rollout as orders are processed and stock is available. Previously, Tesla indicated that there were over 2 million deposits for the Cybertruck, a number that continues to grow.
Early reservation holders will also find that the price for FSD remains at $7,000 USD, in line with the original booking price. The white interior adds an extra $2,000 USD, and switching from the Core Wheels to Cyber Wheels costs an additional $3,500 USD.
As of now, there has been no update regarding invites being sent to reservation holders in Mexico or Canada. Deliveries of the Foundation Series Cybertruck recently began in Mexico, with Canadian deliveries anticipated to start between late October and early November.
