This month, Tesla is providing a promotion where trade-in vehicles come with a complimentary 5,000 miles of free Supercharging.
As the quarter comes to a close, Tesla has introduced its latest incentive for potential buyers, offering 5,000 miles of free Supercharging on specific trade-ins. This follows the recent introduction of a temporary $1,000 discount on Model Y orders and other promotions last month. Tesla's new offer extends to U.S. and Canadian Tesla owners who trade in their vehicles and take delivery by March 31, 2024. This deal grants them 5,000 free miles of Supercharging (equivalent to 8,000 km in Canada), as detailed on Tesla's trade-in webpage.
It's important to note that this incentive does not apply to used vehicles, Cybertrucks, business orders, lease returns, or vehicles used for commercial purposes. However, it is applicable to Tesla's Model 3, Model Y, Model S, or Model X vehicles. Tesla emphasizes that delivery by March 31 is not guaranteed, and the Supercharging miles will expire two years after the vehicle is delivered.
To participate in this offer, interested buyers need to visit Tesla's trade-in page, enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) to confirm eligibility for the trade-in. Tesla's announcement of this offer can be found on its trade-in page.
While the promotional pricing for Tesla's Model Y recently concluded, the company is still providing transfers of the Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta and free lifetime Supercharging perks until the end of this month. Tesla has a history of introducing such incentives towards the end of quarters or years to stimulate additional deliveries. In November of the previous year, a similar offer of six months of free Supercharging was launched for Model 3 and Model Y purchases, though it was not exclusive to trade-ins. Last year, Tesla also temporarily offered an FSD beta transfer for customers who took delivery around the end of September.
In a recent development, Tesla announced the accelerated rollout of approximately one Supercharger stall every hour, anticipating the opening of these stations to other brands this month. Ford became the first non-Tesla brand to access Tesla Superchargers on a Thursday, with Rivian, General Motors (GM), Polestar, and Volvo set to follow suit in the coming weeks.
