The recently released Tesla Model 3 has achieved a 5-star rating in China's IVISTA Intelligent Vehicle Integration test.

The original Tesla Model 3 established itself as an exceptionally safe vehicle, earning the distinction of having the lowest probability of injury among all cars tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in 2018. The recently upgraded Model 3 continues this legacy of safety, as evidenced by its performance in China's IVISTA Intelligent Vehicle Integration test.

China's IVISTA test assesses a vehicle's advanced safety systems and is officially recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Municipality of Chongqing. IVISTA's evaluations involve subjecting vehicles to various scenarios to test their advanced safety features. The upgraded Tesla Model 3, recently launched in North America, underwent testing across four key metrics: Smart Driving, Smart Security, Intelligent Interaction, and Smart Energy Efficiency. Impressively, the Model 3 received a "Good" score in all four metrics during IVISTA's assessments.

It's noteworthy that the testing did not include the "Smart Parking" metric. The new Tesla Model 3 distinguishes itself as a pure vision car, eliminating radar or ultrasonic sensors. Instead, it relies on a pure vision system, utilizing eight exterior cameras for safety and driver-assist functions. Despite the absence of certain traditional sensors, the Model 3's strong scores in IVISTA's tests affirm its overall robust performance in advanced safety systems.

While safety ratings for the upgraded Tesla Model 3 are yet to be disclosed in the United States and Europe, the vehicle's notable performance in China's IVISTA Intelligent Vehicle Integration test suggests a strong likelihood of earning an impressive safety rating, similar to its predecessor. Tesla has a well-established reputation for prioritizing safety in its vehicles, and considering the upgraded Model 3's success in advanced safety system testing, it wouldn't be surprising if it proves to be as safe, if not safer, than the original Model 3. Tesla's commitment to vehicle safety enhances expectations for positive safety ratings in regions beyond China.
