Tesla debuts lowest-priced Cybertruck with extended range capability
The standard Cybertruck configuration includes a rear-mounted single motor and an EPA-estimated 350 miles of range.
Tesla has rolled out the Cybertruck Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) in the U.S. The electric vehicle maker unveiled the model in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday night.
As the most affordable version of the all-electric pickup, the Cybertruck Long Range RWD offers a lower entry point for customers.
Pricing and Range for the Cybertruck Long Range RWD
The new Tesla Cybertruck trim is now the most affordable option, with a starting price of $69,990 before incentives—including the $7,500 federal tax credit. After the credit, the Cybertruck Long Range RWD drops to just $62,490 (before additional options).
By comparison, the dual-motor Cybertruck Long Range AWD starts at $79,990, while the high-performance Cyberbeast tops the lineup at $99,990 (both prices before incentives).
Despite its lower price, the Long Range RWD delivers an impressive 350 miles of range on a full charge when equipped with the standard 18-inch wheels—outpacing both the AWD (325 miles) and Cyberbeast (320 miles). It also supports fast charging, gaining up to 147 miles of range in just 15 minutes at a Supercharger, compared to 137 miles for the AWD and 135 miles for the Cyberbeast.
What You Miss With the Cybertruck LR RWD
The Cybertruck Long Range RWD delivers the most affordable price tag and the longest range in the lineup, but it comes with fewer premium features than its higher-end counterparts. With a towing capacity of just 7,500 lbs (the lowest in the series) and a payload limit of 2,006 lbs, it’s also the slowest Cybertruck, hitting 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds.
Inside, the cabin features textile seats, a tactical gray interior, and heated front seats, but skips the 9.4” rear display found in other trims. The audio system is more basic too, with only seven speakers and no active noise cancellation.
Exterior-wise, this model comes with a standard 6′ x 4′ bed (with an optional soft tonneau cover that adds 12 miles of range), basic headlamps (no signature lighting), and standard bed and tail lamps. Unlike the AWD and Cyberbeast variants, it lacks bed-mounted 2x 120V and 1x 240V outlets as well as cabin 120V power outlets. Additionally, it rides on an adaptive coil spring suspension instead of the air suspension in pricier models, meaning no adjustable ride height.
For its price, the Long Range RWD boasts an impressive 350 miles per charge (with 18" Standard Wheels)—outpacing the AWD’s 325 miles and the Cyberbeast’s 320 miles. It also supports fast charging, adding up to 147 miles in 15 minutes at a Supercharger (vs. 137 miles for the AWD and 135 miles for the Cyberbeast).
What Comes Standard with the Cybertruck LR RWD
Just like its higher-end counterparts, the Cybertruck Long Range RWD comes equipped with a steer-by-wire system, eight exterior cameras, and Tesla’s cutting-edge AI4 computer to support the latest version of Full Self-Driving (FSD). It also includes a powered frunk and mechanical rear locking differentials, enhancing its off-road capability.
Of course, the Long Range RWD also benefits from Tesla’s industry-leading active safety features, making it one of the safest pickups on the market.
Deliveries are expected to begin between June and July 2025.
