Tesla to appear at China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing

Later this month, Tesla is slated to participate in the inaugural China International Supply Chain Expo scheduled to take place in Beijing.

The expo boasts a lineup of 515 exhibitors, among them Tesla, Apple, and numerous other prominent companies, as reported by Nikkei Asia on Tuesday. Organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the event is scheduled to run from November 28 to December .

About a quarter of the exhibitors at the event comprise foreign companies, with roughly 20% of these entities being American, according to details shared in a trade council briefing earlier this week.

Among the U.S. participants are Amazon, Intel, Qualcomm, HP, and a Google executive attending a forum. The expo also garnered support from Chinese President Xi Jinping, emphasizing ongoing cooperation between the nations. During his recent U.S. visit, President Xi extended gratitude to Tesla for its contributions in China. This spirit of cooperation was echoed by Zhang Shaogang, the trade council's vice chairman, expressing optimism that the involvement of these U.S. firms would further bolster China-U.S. relations.

At the sixth China International Import Expo, Tesla showcased its Gigafactory Shanghai-built Model 3 "Highland," which has made its way to various countries across Europe and Asia in recent months. The refreshed Model 3 Highland commenced deliveries in China last month, as announced by Tesla on Weibo.

In the vast Chinese auto market, Tesla stands as a prominent electric vehicle (EV) seller, sharing the space with the gas car and EV manufacturer BYD. October figures from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) reveal Tesla sold 72,115 Giga Shanghai-built vehicles, with 43,489 exported to other countries.
