Tesla discusses the arrival of the Cybertruck in Canada, while Rivian expedites its delivery timeline.

Tesla is in discussions about introducing the Cybertruck to the Canadian market, while Rivian is rapidly expediting its delivery efforts in the same region.

Tesla initiated Cybertruck deliveries in the US, primarily in Texas and California, towards the end of the previous year. The expansion of deliveries within the US has been gradual, as is customary for Tesla before venturing into additional markets, typically starting with Canada.

Rohan Patel, Tesla's head of government affairs and business development, addressed inquiries about the Cybertruck's expansion in Canada on X. Patel noted that the process mainly involves "routine paperwork" and emphasized that it is expected to happen "soon." When questioned about potential delays due to the Canadian government, Patel acknowledged that there is work to be done on both sides but emphasized the standard nature of the process, expressing the company's commitment to expedite the necessary steps.

If this expansion does indeed occur promptly, it would mark one of the fastest rollouts of a new Tesla vehicle in a new market.

Simultaneously, Rivian has notified long-awaiting Canadian reservation holders that they may soon be eligible for deliveries. The company has been actively working to expand its network of service centers and is now positioned to deliver vehicles not only across the continental United States but also in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec. Despite currently having only three service centers in Canada (Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto), Rivian's effort to broaden its service infrastructure signals its readiness to cater to Canadian customers, particularly in regions like Quebec where additional service centers may be necessary for effective deliveries.
