Tesla has recently introduced a new service on its online store — offering OEM vehicle wraps for the Model 3 electric sedan and Model Y SUV.
These exclusive wraps for Tesla's Model Y and Model 3 are currently accessible only at the West Covina and Carlsbad Tesla Service Centers in California.
Tesla provides a selection of seven pre-defined colors for the Model 3/Y wraps, with prices ranging from $7,500 to $8,000, depending on the chosen color. This cost includes both the material and installation.
The available colors for the Model Y/3 wraps, along with their respective costs, are as follows:
The official description of Tesla wraps on their parts and accessories shop website states:
"Enhance your Model 3 or Model Y with our premium Color Wraps, exclusively available through Tesla. Featuring seven distinctive colors, this self-repairing urethane-based film shields the underlying paint from chips, scratches, and swirls.
"The purchase price covers both material and installation. Presently, participating Tesla Service Centers are located in West Covina, CA, and Carlsbad, CA.
"Note: Compatible with 2023+ Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. To make a purchase, ensure you have Tesla app version 4.23.0 or newer."
Personally, I find the Glacier Blue wrap (pictured above) most appealing among the seven colors offered for both the Model 3 and Model Y. It brings back memories of the early Model 3 prototypes and some rare Silver Model 3s from its initial launch period. Tesla discontinued the Silver color shortly after the release.
Forest Green is my second favorite. The Crimson Red wrap caters to those who have always desired a vivid red Tesla but settled for a different color. However, it does come at a premium — $2,000 for the Red Multi-Coat color and $8,000 for the Crimson Red wrap. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the wrap surpasses the paint job significantly.
It's worth noting that Tesla's provision of official wraps is not a new concept. The automaker first introduced this service in China back in 2020. Now, Tesla is testing the waters with select service centers, and if these wraps gain popularity within the Tesla community, the company may extend this offering to other parts of North America.
In recent months, the Tesla Cybertruck has been spotted with various wraps in California. It's highly likely that Tesla will provide official Cybertruck wraps as it gears up for deliveries and launches its online configurator.
